Non-windows systems should be able to work out something much newer, or at least an AppImage.

Windows 10/11 users should consider Linux. Mint for beginners, Manjaro for functional. (Arch if you have patience, Gentoo if you have time.)

Windows 7/8/8.1 can use anything up to Firefox 115. VxKex helps to run newer versions on Windows 7.

Windows XP and Vista can run Firefox 52.9 ESR, also Windows 2000 with SP5 + Extended Kernel.

Windows 98 can technically run Firefox 48 with KernelEx and some components taken from Windows XP.

There is also r3dfox that supports Vista and 7, or supermium for Windows XP onward.

Arch Linux 32 can get you to at least Firefox 114 on hardware that has no right running a modern desktop.
